So tell us about yourself and what led you to set up in business ?
Catch the Sun was founded with a clear vision: to create a premium tanning and skincare combined brand that empowers individuals to feel confident, radiant, and comfortable in their own skin. Driven by a personal passion for tanning and the transformative power of a healthy glow, We identified a gap in the market for high-performance, skin-loving products that deliver both aesthetic results and long-term skincare benefits. With a focus on quality, innovation and confidence boosting results, Catch the Sun was born offering a curated range of products designed to enhance natural beauty while supporting skin health. The brand stands as a reflection of Alisia’s commitment to helping others look good, feel good and glow from the inside out.

What is the most challenging aspect of running a business / working freelance?
One of the most challenging aspects of running a business ( especially starting at 20 years old ) is turning an idea and a dream into reality without a roadmap. You face self doubt, financial pressures, and the learning curve of navigating everything from branding to logistics all on your own. There’s no one telling you what to do next or what to do at all, so staying motivated, disciplined, and believing in your vision is essential. It can feel isolating at times, but the reward of building something from the ground up and seeing your passion take shape makes every challenge so worth it.
How do you stay inspired and motivated to run your business / work freelance?
I stay inspired and motivated by constantly learning from others; especially through podcasts, books and interviews with successful entrepreneurs across different eras and industries. Hearing their stories, challenges and breakthroughs reminds me that every journey is unique and growth often comes from persistence through tough times. Surrounding myself with that kind of mindset keeps me focused, driven, passionate and excited to keep building my own path with Catch the Sun.
What one piece of advice would you share with other members on how to overcome business setbacks?
My advice would be: don’t take setbacks personally; take them as redirection. Every challenge is a lesson, and every “no” is one step closer to a better “yes.” Stay focused on your vision, stay flexible in your approach and trust that consistency will pay off. I often repeat to myself: no one learns how to walk the first time their feet touch the ground; It’s through practice, consistency, resilience and not giving up that it then becomes a second nature to us. Setbacks are part of the process, not the end of it so keep learning, keep moving, and remember why you started
Share your hidden gem about Dublin
One of my hidden gems in Dublin has to be Howth. It’s the perfect escape from the city without ever really leaving it. Whether it’s taking a walk along the cliff path with those stunning coastal views, grabbing fresh food at one of the local restaurants, or just watching the boats in the harbour, Howth has a way of making you feel calm and recharged. I especially appreciate it more on our sunny days ( When we’re lucky enough to get them! ) there’s something magical about the way the light hits the sea and the whole area comes to life. It’s a place that inspires creativity, brings a sense of peace and always leaves me feeling refreshed and grounded.
